Expression of try by see
The association between see predicates and the expression of try is a cross-linguistically robust yet understudied pattern. I investigate the semantic underpinnings of this connection, contributing to the theoretical landscape of expressing the sense of try across languages.

Encoding direction in language
The expression of directed movements offers a window into understanding cross-linguistic variation and universals. I investigated the structural make-up of directional expressions and the extended functions of directional lexical items, by examining at my dialect in the context of a diversity of languages.
